I’m successful, secure, educated and…..lonely. What now? I hate the bar. I feel like a loser sitting there talking to the bar tender. It’s been so long since I had a date, I wouldn’t know how to start a conversation with a turtle let alone a man/woman. HELP!!
The Matchmaking DUO to the rescue!
We hear over and over from men and women all over the country that dating is grueling and painful. Why? Technology has been a double-edged sword or bitter sweet. We require it but it hurts us in the relationship department. People today feel as if texting is an acceptable form of communication and it’s NOT. It is a TEMPORARY form of communication. That’s it!
So here are 8 tips to help you find a date and get back in the game!
- Make a list of hobbies that you love and join those meet-up groups.
- What hobbies would you like your mate to be interested in? If it’s fencing, go watch a fencing tournament and multiple times. If you’re looking for someone who’s creative, take a painting class.
- If you find yourself on a first date, prepare for the date. Choose 4 things that you absolutely want any man or woman to know about you. Stay away from work and family topics. (Gents, women don’t care about the big the engine is in your new car, Ladies, stay away from discussing your shopping habits).
- Show him/her you are a great listener. Listen quietly with a smile and then regurgitate what you just heard and then add your own points to move the conversation forward.
- Laugh, Laugh, Smile, and Laugh some more. People enjoy light conversations nothing heavy.
- Resume a confident posture, Gents shoulders back, Ladies, chin up and legs crossed (it’s sexy).
- Ladies, find your best attribute and enhance it! If it’s your smile, wear some dazzling lip-gloss. If you have great legs, show them off with a great pair of heels and a flirty skirt. Gents, put some effort into your appearance as well. A fresh haircut, clean shave, ironed shirt and nice shoes is always a plus.
- Keep the date short and sweet. 60 minutes or less. Give him/her something to look forward to next time.
